Peter Duffy
Peter is our Senior Managing Partner and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in January 1960. During his forty years of legal experience Peter has developed an extensive practice in conveyancing (residential/ commercial/ and rural), leasing, mortgages, wills and estates, probate, taxation matters and many other facets of the law.
Peter Duffy is the most senior practicing Solicitor in Dubbo and has been the President of the Orana Law Society on two occasions. In addition, Peter is a member of the Dubbo Lions Club and is the Honorary Solicitor for approximately twenty local organisations such as the Dubbo Turf Club, Narromine Pre-School, Playmates Cottage Child Care Centre and the Dubbo Golf Club.
Peter's services to the community resulted in him being awarded the 1995 New South Wales Law Society Pro-Bono Solicitor of the Year Award.
Peter is supported by his assistants Chris, Merilyn and Rachael.
Robert Duffy
Robert Duffy was admitted as a Solicitor in 1988 and joined M.J.Duffy & Son in that same year. Robert, along with his brother Stephen are the 4th generation of the Duffy family to be employed at the firm.
Robert initially practiced exclusively in criminal law and has extensive experience and a thorough understanding of this practice area.
Over the years Robert has expanded his practice from criminal law to include business and commercial law, corporate structuring, purchase and sale of business, trade practices and all aspects of conveyancing. Robert also has an extensive knowledge of estate planning, wills, power of attorney and enduring guardianship documents.
Roberts acts for many prominent businesses in Dubbo and the surrounding area and has developed thorough relationships with government authorities, the business community and the Orana community as a whole.
Robert is supported by his assistants Kellie and Marie.
Stephen Duffy
Stephen was admitted to practice in 1992 and practiced for many years in Sydney, primarily in the areas of civil litigation and insurance law.
Stephen joined the family firm as a Solicitor in 1998 and was welcomed as a Partner of the firm in 2006.
Stephen practices in common law, civil litigation, commercial litigation and professional negligence matters. Stephen also acts on insurance matters, including house and contents, sickness and accident, disability and property damage claims.
Stephen is an Accredited Specialist in personal injury law and has been since 1998.
Stephen is supported by his assistant Denise.
